Features

Despite the phones looking pretty much the same, as you can see, the feature set is quite different. Simply put, the LG500g has the far superior features. Interestingly enough, the 500 is $10 cheaper than the 501. That's probably attributed to scales of economy. There aren't a whole lot of CDMA only areas so Tracfone probably does not sell nearly as many 501s than 500s. That's probably why the features are different as well.

Conclusion

The LG500g is obviously the best of the two. Though it probably won't happen, if you are faced with a choice, the LG500g is the phone to pick. That being said, if you want to use Tracfone or Net10 and are stuck in a CDMA area, then the LG501c is a fine phone. It's the best of the CDMA lot by far even without the features.
